Thinking of doing my first track day in the 360 and would like to go to Goodwood as it's the only track I've been on before.

Has anybody done a day there in a 360 or does anybody know if the standard exhaust system will pass their 98db test, it's one of their quiet days I plan on doing? I know it's nothing like a Tubi or Capristo but above 4000 or so it does seem quite loud, unfortunately I've no idea if it's 98db loud.

If it's still standard then it should pass Ok.

Never been to Goodwood but aren't there lots of stone walls to potential hit.

I'm sure you've heard of the fatal accident (in a 360 !!) a couple of years ago.

i tracked my old e39 m5 at goodwood and although its a lovely setting it was not ideal my initial trackdays.

you are pushed into some very fast corners and very liitle space to go to if it all goes wrong.

i dont know what your driving is like but if i had my time again i would have started on an airfield circuit like bedford.

good luck and be safe

Thanks for the comments - managed to find a day at Bedford GT on Apr 14th instead - probably a better starting point right enough. Plus they allow 99db!

Last time I was at Goodwood was in an integrale evo in the wet and it was quite exciting I have to say:-) I could keep that flat out through Fordwater but I would be pretty nervous about doing the same in the 360 I think.

FWIW i'm almost 100% confident that a 360 would NOT pass drive-by noise testing at Goodwood - even if it did scrape through the static tests.

cheers,

That's interesting, thanks. Sounds like it will be tricky to test how loud it is for a drive by test until you've paid your money and drive by!

Jonny, I don't suppose you could give an educated guess about whether or not it would pass the drive by at Bedford GT (think it's 87 or 88 at 20m).

Paid for the day now so will be going anyway but trying to think of solutions if it's too loud. Anybody tried those Supertrapps - trouble with that is I guess I would need 4 which would be a bit pricy.

Or I suppose short shift or back off past the microphones if they are obvious?

The 360 will pass the sound tests. I went in one to Bedford and they initially told us off but that was because we disconnected what i think was some sensors on each side of the exhaust. These sensors quieten the exhaust down, so we re-connected them and went back out and it was all fine!

That's brilliant cheers - I just want to cencentrate on the driving and not have to worry about noise!
