Track-Club.com - any good?
Discussion
Always wanted a track car. Got a Westfield and thanks to a mixture of bad luck and mechanical faults managed to do only 2 track days between when I bought it in June and gave up and sold it in December. It was very consuming of time I didn't have along with garage space that SWMBO wanted back
Realistically I only have room for one car (my 540i). I am thinking of changing it for an E34 M5 which I could track 3 or 4 times a year. The bills for this could, of course, end up more than just hiring a track car!
I see 2 options: BAT (whom I have heard good stuff about but are limited to BAT days and my work schedule means I could do with more flexibility) and Track-club about which I know very little. I'd be interested in using them a few times this year and would like to know what members actually think of them.
Unfortunately I'll be abroad during their next two taster days ..

I joined at the beginning of the year, and have so far hired an Exige. Car was in good shape, and all went smoothly on the day. I think it works out at pretty good value for money once you take everything into account like depreciation and wear and tear. Plus it was nice not to have to drive it home at the end of the day.
I've been a member from the start, first year had a couple of reliability problems but the customer service was always outstanding and they made amends. Since then though they have invested heavily in improving the fleet, new Exige, Elise, CSR etc and I did 9 days last year on my Monaco membership which were awesome, especialy the CSR260.
They look after you really well, hopefully there will be a few more members trips this year, last years Spa trip was great. I had an S1 Exige prior to joining and membership has worked out cheaper than running the Exige.
Apparently a JP1 is being added to the fleet for 2007

I have also been a member from the start.
Very easy and works out good value for money.
I have a track car of my own aswell so I can compare.
Fleet is very good and the CSR 260 is really good fun.
The smaller stuff is also a real hoot, like the Clio (except when I bury it in the Gravel)
I never bother with the collecting the cars, just phone Stephen and pay for them to be delivered.

Always looked after us excellently - wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Thanks Stephen. I did wonder what had happened since we conversed by email a couple of months ago. I thought I'd dreamt it I'll wait for the new site to go live.
Drop me a note again and I'll give you an update on 2007 plans.
Bear in mind that if anyone wants to try out some of the cars or simply see some of them you can come along to a taster day either as a participant or just to have a chat and a sit in some of the cars or a few passenger rides. If you come as a participant and then decide to join you get a refund on the cost of the taster day so it's effectively a free day out. This is generally how most people join up.
Likewise if you want to hire a car so you have something to yourself for the day and then you decide to join up you can join retrospectively and benefit from the cheaper members rates using your points.
You can also give me a call and come along to a day that some members are at and have a chat with them directly.
