Apologies for the off topic comments but I find myself rather spooked here...

The author of the thread shares my exact name, and its talking about Oulton park - a track I live not 15minutes away from. Also it appears the author resides in Lanc, which is where I grew up.

Is this a time slip or mere coincidence?

Sadly the usual in my experience, I wish I could pick and choose my trackday organizer but I go when the time works....

I have been reliably informed that any organisers events 'snowed off' at an MSV venue will be credited against their next event at one of MSV's venues.

So i would like a refund please.

EvoBarry - I was at Oulton on Wednesday and can confirm that it wasn't you jester
I did wonder if you'd bought a GT3 though when I looked at the list of attendees!

BarryT - your GT3 was awesome and looked so quick round the circuit. Sorry if I held you up, I was driving the old and slow 325i which is a bit lacking in power when a GT3 is in the same chicane! Also it was my first full track day at Oulton so I was trying to stay out of everyone's way. Nice to see a proper car being used properly though

Cheers,
Bryn.

Hi Barry, I actually haven't finished the original 325i track car that I was building but this one came up in the PH classifieds last month at a great price and already set up for the track with a cage etc.

I've driven Oulton before but only on one of those gift days using a clio then a single seater and it wasn't the full track either. I love the circuit though, its such a great challenge and its very satisfying when you have improved your lines by the end of the day. But I'd imagine it'll take a long time to learn properly, especially Druids and Lodge.

The 325i was great though, perfect to learn the circuit in although I was a bit wary that it was one of the slower cars there! It behaved impeccably and had no problems which was great for a car approaching 18 years of age! We weren't too hard on it, doing about 5 laps then letting it cool down for about half an hour. Cascades was too fast for 3rd and not quick enough for fourth which was a bit frustrating. Makes you appreciate how much effort goes in to setting up race cars for each track though.

I think my next outing in the 325i will be Anglesey as I think it'll suit the car more, whereas Oulton is ideal for something a bit quicker. Next time I might take something like my 300bhp Integrale but I wonder if some of the challenge will be lost in a 4WD car.

Are you doing any track days this year?

Cheers,
Bryn.

We're hoping to try the new Angrysea out this year but other than that I'm gonna concentrate on the bike this year, it got neglected last year with all the car trackdays we did. If you do book Anglesey or Oulton give us a nod tho, I'll pop down if nothing else

Be interesting to see how you get on. I'm sure you've read the T+Cs.

Personally I've never had any problems with Easytrack but maybe I've a more realistic view on booking winter trackdays.

Wether any track day winter or summer is cancelled you expect to hear what has happened to your money, until now we have heard sweet FA.

I did a td two years ago that was cancelled at snetterton with another organiser on a sunday, on the monday i had a decision on a refund or another td.

[quote= easytrack T+Cs]Easytrack Ltd cannot be held responsible if an event is cancelled or stopped due to forces beyond its control and such fees paid for such events are strictly non-refundable and refunds are made at our discretion. No claim for loss can be bought against Easytrack Ltd.

There was a statement on the easytrack site but that has been pulled for some reason.
I agree it's poor that no e-mail has been sent explaining the situation but I don't see there is any legal obligation to do so.
My view on winter trackdays is you pay your money and take your chance with the weather. If it rains all day and the track floods, then tough, if someone chucks it at the scenery in a big way and it closes early, tough and if the track owner calls it off before it starts then that’s tough as well. You take a gamble and if the weather is good, as it was on Friday, you get a cheap day but if it doesn't work out you've lost your money. If you can't afford to lose the money you ought not to take the gamble but lets face facts the price paid to the TDO for the day is insignificant as part of the total cost of tracking a car.
The TDOs don't get a refund AFAIK, they get credit, and so it seems to me unreasonable to expect them to give a refund. However most will credit against future trackdays. As you probably know the calendar is usually full months in advance and arranging adding a new day to the calendar, especially a weekend, isn’t possible.
As before I’ve used Easytrack as a paying customer for years and never had any problems with them; They’ve been more than reasonable with me but then I’ve never taken to slagging them off over the internet. Patience and tact can go along way to retaining goodwill, which you might find is repaid later.
Barry Thompson, I understand you are there on the RS day and maybe you’d be better discussing this in private then –just IMHO.
