Our elise engine swap has taken a bit(well a lot) longer than planned, partly because the asholes we got the engine and electronic bits etc off kept giving us the wrong partsranting, and no doubt partly because of our own incompetence. So now we are waiting for an Emerald ECU which should run the thing but they have a waiting list which means that all this lovely early spring weather is passing us by. Kinda frustrating.
But its nice to see you guys are having fun........D.

I feel your pain...

My GT3 went in for its 24k service and needed a rear main seal (gearbox out), 2 coil packs, the diff testing, brake fluid, gearbox fluid etc.. Im currently waiting for a part from Germany (my request though) so the car is still in pieces at Reading.

I went over to Silverstone at the weekend and cadged a couple of rides - kept the smile on my face

Are you sticking with the K series or transplanting somthing else into the Elise? I recently encountered an Elise with the Audi turbo motor at Bedford... It was pulling about 3 car lenghts on me (in the GT3) down the back straight at Bedford.. they are seriously fast!

Not in bits as such, but Saabine does need a bit of long overdue TLC before I take her out on the tracks again. Will tend to it after I register the TVR (so I am not bereft of private transport whiel the Saab gets its deserved attention) - only the small matter of (just over) a grand's worth of Dutch registration tax is standing in the way of that...

Nothing quite as exotic for us 'yet'. We have swapped the stock K motor for a 160VVC unit which should hopefully be quite lively if not quite GT3 performance. Car should be out again mid March, Cadwell or Donni are our home tracks, See u there? Dave.

The BMW is sat sadly in the garage weeping into one if its cylinders (well i assume that's where all the coolant's going). Waiting to get enough cash together for a new engine.

First race is March 24.

The car has no wiring loom, front or rear subframe, engine, gearbox, exhaust has not even been measured up yet, dashboard, seat, fire extinguisher, harnesses need to be ordered and so on.....

Skyline's in bits in preparation for new engine, brakes and a few other bits and pieces

Should be ready for Le Mans, where hopefully it'll get a quick run around the nurburgring and spa on the way there or back

Been on the phone to Emerald to see where our ecu has got to and it seems that the model that we need is still being developed and is not even available yet! Bit p1ssed off as there was no mention of this when i placed my order 5/6weeks ago and they where happy to take my money saying that there was a backlog of orders after the sports/racecar show. just wondered if anyone else is waiting for one on ph? This is the one to control the VVC K series motor.

Edit to say emerald phoned today and ecu to be dispatched on fri so hopefully should soon be running again.
