I attended the one in January, I was in the old silver Mercedes (3 of us had a photo in the local paper for doing the day!). I intend to do this day too, and have encouraged a few friends to come along too - look forward to it. Last day was fun, well organized and run, and things were nice and safe too.

FWIW my standard car was 86 DB. My friend's heavily silenced Caterham was 93.

Glad you had a great time and thanks for helping raise the funds.

What paper was it that you got your photo in?

Thanks

The Dursley Gazette the week after the day. I haven't seen it, apparently it was a postage stamp size picture. Had 3 of us locals who came together (Me, the Caterham and a Prelude) lined up in the paddock! rotate

So, you're running through a list of charities then? What happened to the save the brats or whatever the last one was?

I'm waiting for the save the donkeys one!!!

Do me some more leaflets and I'll give them out. (they can pay extra for the rectal exam!)

Just been watching track day videos from Castle Combe on YouTube - mostly from Japfest/Eurofest/Fordfest/Chavfest type events.

God there's a whole lot of absolutely terrible and dangerous driving there.

I have to say my charity day at castle combe was nothing like them - plenty of safe and sensible driving. Hope this continues!

You should come to a book a track day...they are very well run! Jonny doesnt do messing around! I cant imagine Ben, as he comes from a racing background, will tolerate any troubles either!

I hate the idea of going out on a lemon day with a load of "would be Stigs" They have very little car control and Combe isnt very forgiving to muppets!

Quite looking forward to this day....

Lee sorry car isnt yellow....gone for something even more scary than that! And as for getting my girlfriends knickers wound up.....she isnt coming this time!

Just re-read this and cant be bothered to rewrite the last bit.....but waiting for the sly comments!!!

You want to see dangerous driving see the Knockhill/team gimp vids!

As for dangerous driving, I'd have to disagree, there may be some bad/inexperienced driving, but if we see any dangerous driving they are given 1 warning and then they are banned

Yes I should state again that on the real 'track days' I've seen, the driving is pretty exemplary (I've been to 2 at combe). I am just referring to the bigger car events which let people on track in their corsas with subwoofers and similar, where discipline appears to be slightly lacking. Looks like amusing viewing though...

If the driving standards were poor I definitely wouldn't be doing this! Much too scared of it going pear shaped!
