Nurburgring/Hockenheim and ...??
Discussion
I'm going to go back to the Nurburgring this year and realised Hockenheim ain't that far away. They seem to do track sessions on certain days where you just pay for a quarter of an hour or so at a time. Are there any other tracks that do this sort of thing around that area of Europe ?? Thought about doing a little driving trip and see how many tracks I could fit in and hopefully drive around.

Spa. Zolder. Zanvoort.
Sachsenring, which is in the East of Germany, since you are going to Hockenheim which is a fairly long trip anyway, you might as well go east too.
A1 Ring in Austria, Salzburgring too! Monaco? Depends how far you want to travel!
Autosport had a suppliment a few years ago that had a guide to all the circuits around Europe, it was great!

Hi Simon,
Hockenheim does indeed do public sessions - by british dtandards a bit of a nightmare, as there is no briefing, so next thing you know your braking for the first corner six cars abreast
However it's cheap and although it's not much track time it's ok. The Sachsenring is a brilliant track (we were based there with the AS ONE project and used it extensively for testing) but unfortunately there aren't that many track days - they only have 10 days without noise restrictions (only 90db allowed), and the track is mainly used for tuition. However, they do not advertise the track days on the web site - do give them a call. Once you're there, the Lausitzring is only an hour away and they also do public days, albeit only in the summer as far as I know - check their website. However, both tracks are about 4-500 km's hours away from Hockenheim, so it's a bit of a treck.
Give me a shout if you need any more info.
Regards,
Felix

As Felix says - Hockenheim is pretty crazy in the public sessions - all the locals turn up in their everyday cars and hoon around - 6 cars abreast in some corners is an understatement Great track though, and if you hang back initially to avoid the madness, you can find some clear track to enjoy yourself.
As for close-by tracks - try and get to Spa. Organised track days only, but an awesome track - vmax straights and awesome variety of corners.
