Anyone done of these days before? - I did the Noble day last year, highly recommended!
Going on 29th April for the VX220 & VX220 Turbo day - anyone else? If not, there's still a few places left at

I've been planning to go on this and with only 6 places left I have had to take the plunge, so I've just booked it.

Now just three things to do.
1.arrange some insurance
2.sort out the front tyres
3.get the car down from 108db.s

see you there.

i went on the last one.

merlin motorsport @ castle coombe is good for bolt on silencers

or you could just rev it to 3k when they ask for 4,500 as somebody in a car like mine did last time

Nice one Andy, never seen an Ultima doing it's stuff on track, I'll keep my eyes open and I'll be angling for a ride of course!
Quite looking forward to having a go in the VX, they certainly let you 'drive' properly if last years experience with the Noble is anything to go by - I had it sideways on the first corner, cue big grins!

Don't expect too much.......I'm a complete novice on track.

Should be fun though.

Would have love to come but I don't think I'll be able to get the Noble into the factory for its service and other mods before then.

Have fun - it's a great circuit, and I might take up one of the others depending on how I can manage my diary to enable me to get the car up to Leciester...

Come on joust give it a go, would be great to see a Noble there to show up the VX220's as well.

Also wouldn't mind meeting you.

I'm sure you could get the car in to the factory if you tried.

I think I'll have to pass as I'm waiting on the final versions of "lasumpofixo". News from the factory is excellent - the solution is a bit radical (since when has Lee ever been "normal" but Don "mad" Palmer (he's the nutter up there at Bedford - always ask for him if you are ever on a corporate day ) couldn't break Lee's new solution so it's looking good.

Trouble is that I don't think that Lee will be able to get the changes fabricated in times - and I want the new exhaust system and a few other things changed around (given the GTC's going to be a little bit longer), plus it needs its service, and I'm on holiday all this week, and out flying around at work the following week - so it's not really going to happen I don't think.

Do you know if they are going to allow spectators - I could always leave work a bit early, come up and have a look see?

P.S. I should be able to make Bruntingthorpe on the 27th if there are spaces - can you make that?...

I could make part of Bruntingthorpe but would only get time for one maybe two runs at a push which would make it an expensive couple of minutes.

You should swing by the Ultima factory, its their open day that Sunday and its only 5 mins from the Noble factory.

Joust, why not bring the Elise or Ur to Bedford - would be great to have another PH'er along.
Actually, I think it'd be hilarious if you brought the X5!

Still - plenty more...

Right, the car is now legal as its down to 100db's @ 5300rpm.

That means on tarmac at 4700rpm it should cruise the 101 db's required for Bedford.

I've also sorted out a camera mount for the car.

No camera mount sorted for mine just yet - cue lots of insulation tape etc....! Looks like we may be getting a little rain - that'll make things 'interesting'.

I caught you on camera, but only when I span and you were behind me. Sorry we never really got to chat I was feeling rather rough so wasn't really up to socialising.

Have to say I didn't meet anyone who wasn't impressed by your driving, I even heard Johathon Palmer praising your backend slides.

(you were the one with the green TVR?)

No worries Andy, I was a bit too absorbed having some fun out on track to be sociable anyway! Wish I'd got a blast in the Ult - the HUGE wads of flame coming out the back when you were braking at the end of the back straight were very cool, singed bodywork?

A couple of people spoke to me about my driving, Chris Harris from Autocar mentioned something about doing the Autocar sideways challenge so hopefully there'll be a PH'er representing this year! But I was majorly flattered  when a certain Dr J Palmer wandered over at the end of the session and had a chat about my drifting - something about good car control & being entertaining to watch. We aim to please!
"Now if only I'd had the opportunities, I could have been the next Jenson Button / Damon Hill etc"
All in all an excellent event, good value, great track, recommended. I'll certainly be back again....

A few familiar faces here - glad you enjoyed the VX day boys - we had fun too. Finally shagged the tyres on the scooby, just got to blag some new ones in time for the EVO V111 day next week.

Steve - your sideways action was superb mate. If you can do it in that Chimaera, you can do it in anything.

If anyone here is going to the Evo V111 day on the 9th I'll see you there. Should be a giggle.
