I struck me that in the 5 track days I've done I've seen a couple of people going home with a different shaped car than the one they arrived in. Given the number of laps that 5 full days implies I don't think that's too bad
So, beyond the usual cone-scattering out braking scenarios, has anyone had an off that they'll admit to ?

Yeppaperbag...although the track looked like this
went a bit wide through druids and then on to the grass and across the track into a tyre wall

Not best day of my life cry

Been off a few times, I have done well over 50+ trackdays now in the last 7 years all very little damage (Scuffed the sills and wheels in the gravel). The worst was my 10th Trackday at Donnington came off down Craner Curves at 100+ so so lucky not to hit the wall. Gave me the shake up I needed although I still havent done Craner flat since

Minor moment on r888s at Goodwood - should have come in a lap earlier before it really heaved it down but the old red mist was up driving no damage done apart from pride, wallet (had to buy the marshals lunch for digging me out) and 2.5 hours getting the gravel out of the engine bay from them dragging me out backwards...wobble

A real "Bu**er, no its alright I've caught it, s**t no I haven't, crunch - damn" moment.

Moral - never trust a racing driver when he tells you it wont rain so put the r888s on. rolleyes

Edited to be more factually correct on the tyre description front for Fergus

er, R888s aren't cut slicks, nowhere close.

Span on exit of craner curves on a drying track, but Donnington is just so greasy with any amount of moisture on the track. No damage didnt even clip the grass bowtie

I can vouch for the fact that the Nurburgrings armcos are in fact gold plated!

Not my proudest moment.

that's the spirit! I think most people on this forum know their R888s from their A048, etc, mate!!

Back in 1997 I spun off Castle Combe into the infield near Hammerdown in torrential rain at around 80mph in the Corrado. Very lucky I didn't connect with the infield tyre barrier and suffered no damage.

Knocked my confidence somewhat and my lap times were significantly worse after that. hehe

Edit: My mate was back at the pitwall with a crafty stopwatch (tut tut) and when I came in he said "you spun, didn't you?" I asked how he knew and he said "you were doing 1:30's lap after lap and then put in a 2min lap". hehe

I did Donington for the first time last Sunday...I had a 'moment' on the 2nd lap of my 3rd session [cold tyres] through Craner at about 90-95mph...not a big slide but a significantly sideways...enough to slow me down again!

I heard a few people talkig about go flat through Craner!! I was quite content with a lift just before the crest!

First track day in my new 205 at Cadwell last saturday. Feeling a little confident by the afternoon and decided to see what happend if I didn't let off through Barn, very nearly spun it, but somehow the car got grip after being fully sideways and I recovered to the right hand side at a decreased pace letting a few people past while I gathered myself.

That said, a few people spun into the tire wall between The Mountain and Hall Bends, no significant injuries thankfully.

Thats always a favourite, and the best bit is you can watch them bin it whilst stood at the club house.
