Anyone doing Oulton Park Saturday 20th Jan???
Discussion
Hi Craig
I'll be there in a silver rex going with two mates one has a vx220r in red and another has a bright orange evo(650bhp)he runs in the time attack series.I have just had all the geo done with AP brakes and 1600cc secondary injectors done at wgt, so its the first time out with better brakes more bhp and better handling (hope it stays dry 360@ r wheels in the wet isn't good).Come over and if there is room (i have two sons with me)we will try to get you a ride?
Regards
Craig

I was there watching today, well for an hour or so this morning, I got some pics too I can post a few if you dont mind, although not many of the Evo turned out well due to that colour, really messes up the camera big style
Have to say that Evo is amazing, my son was in awe!!

I turned up today - 'on spec' and had some fun out on the track. Good driving by almost everyone - though a few spinners.
Any pics anyone?

Graham,
Nice to meet you today, glad i turned up and i enjoyed the afternoon. I thought with the bad weather it might have been cancelled.
Regards,
Barry
Amazed just how quick the RX7 was!
Different experience...going for a dump in the dark!
Not been to OP for ages so a little eager on the 1st few laps...bad brake fade into Shell
Anyone know who the TT Sport belonged to?..Interested to know how that went, looked quick.
Good day if a little cold!

Hi Barry - thanks for taking Tom out in the RS (same thanks to John P), the Manthey system sounds brilliant. Tom did some video clips from the pit wall - ended up with more footage of your GT3 than my Turbo - not the plan. He did say that after each power slide you had a wry grin on your face!
Craig - didn't know Mazda's were so quick! Had to drop back so to avoid melting the front PU on my car!!
Really pleased with my Turbo and the handling is spot on - I believe when it's run in and got a few more miles on it, it will be even faster! Haven't got quite the committment/bottle to keep my toe in through the twisty bits just yet.
Cheers

Didn't realise it was such a flame spitter,i heard the detination from inside the car before, but that was the first time i have watched it go past the pit straight at full chat and saw the 3ft flame after lifting of for the bend after the pit straight(don't know the name of the corner).
May do cadwell park next month anyone going?

Amazed it stopped dry, was nearly a great day. Somewhat let down by the Pug 205. Passengered with brother, then went out for my first few laps. Just got tyres and brakes about up to temp and noticed that the water temp was sky high. Came in and water level none existant.
Waited for an hour or so for it to cool down. Added a significant amount of water, started engine and water poured from the head/block. Looks like knackered head gasket... bugger !
Anyway, shared drive in my other bro's Escort MK1. Reasonably quick, somewhat different in the handling dept. than the Pug... Just couldn't get the 'scort to slow without locking the fronts much to my alarm into Shell Oils !
Never been soooo glad to own a torch in my life

My friend and I picked up his new elise from Christopher Neil in Northwich and called in on Saturday for 30 mins to watch the track day. Some great cars, I enjoyed the race prepped Mini, old Mk2 Cortina, the F430 and the Black Seat Ibiza with Black wheels who was going around Old Hall Corner at full pelt, tyres screeching every time. The marshal and I were convinced he was about to go into the trees, hopefully he didnt.
Who organised the event? I didnt have time to hang around to chat but it seemed like it was a good crowd and not too packed.
