Hi all,

I took my BMW 330d out to Oulton Park on Saturday - did a write up over on another forum where there are some pics and vids posted. Was my first track day - and had a fantastic time despite the terrible weather! Was great being out there with such a variety of cars.

Pics and videos in the thread: www.channelmotors.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=27

Did anyone else go? I'd like to see some more pics and videos as most of mine were too blurry to post!

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Guys,

I was on the drift day in my silver Porsche 924. A heater hose split though, so I only got about 1 1/2 of drifting.

Has anyone got any photos of me drifting please?

I've put my photos on the other thread here:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=116&t=342301&p=1

And my photobucket account is:

I was in the Blue Fiesta Mk5 (Zetec-S) Was my first track day, really enjoyed it! Also, my friend was in the Blue Fiesta ST, (195bhp not 210bhp.. yet!) which seemed to do well!

M100 - I saw your car on the M60 after the track day? Gave you a flash, but didn't think you'd noticed me!

It was great fun with it being wet, means us lesser powered FWD's could have a bit more fun! lol.

The blue evo off track was lucky they had modified the run off on that corner over Christmas. Judging by the length of the tracks leading to the gravel he'd have been in the barriers had it been a trackday a few months earlier.

Didn`t see u flash mate, and i noticed one of my head lights was out when i got home lol

That was my though to, it was a good day for front wheel drive (saying that there was 4wd on there). I was well impressed how well the M100 handled as i was over taking most thing, hoping it`s just as good in the dry.

For me the funniest part of the day was when lunch had finished and after queuing up someone had lost it at the 1st bend (cascades) and dico and i couldn`t stop laughing (think he might of just touched the barrier).

Hi Monty,

I got this one of you

I also got a short vid of on the track. I'll try and put it up on youtube, or I could e-mail it to you if you want.

Hmm yes, I was the car behind when it happend, saw him hit the barrier. It seemed he spun it on the straight! Mental. I think he was booted off after that.

Hi,

I logged on to find out if the guy with the Ferrari was alright.. glad to hear he is.

I was at Oulton Park with 2 of my mates and a Ford Sierra XR4x4 that were using as a track car.
The morning was pretty fun in the wet, the 4WD also helped alot! driving

However the afternoon was well deserved as the sun came out and the rain stopped. Got a good bunch of laps in as my confidence in the car grew and the track dried out.

Was fun to see some other people and cars there. Whoever was driving that Elan was getting some flying laps in.
There was a silver Evo that was pretty fast as well.

Cheers.

Heh, yeah - I was sitting at the front of the queue! Apparently the guy in the Skyline had an instructor who refused to go out with him in the afternoon due to his driving. The guy had spun off twice in the morning.

Apparently he was coasting around corners - i.e. changing gear but not letting the clutch up at all, so kept losing contol on the bends.

M100 - your Elan was very rapid in the wet. The FWD cars certainly had the upper hand over the RWDs in the nasty conditions!
