Trackday helmet?

How many of you wear a motorcycle helmet for trackdays? I've read the feature on this site which talks about regulations for racing, but how many tracks actually check helmets before letting you on the track.

If I was to use a motorbike helmet it would be a flip-front version, so I could choose between open face with front flipped up, or fully closed face. Would this be acceptable?

I've done a couple of trackdays at brands hatch and they've never checked helmets to see if there MSA approved. A friend of mine even used his motorcross helmet.

I do about 6-7 trackdays a year and up to now have always used a M/C Helmet. My car is a open top one, so I have to have a full face.

I have now decided to purchase a proper motorsport Helmet, for no other reason than its a self Chrisse present
