Possibly the wrong forum, but trackdays are the purpose behind this query.

My brother wants to come over and do a Nurburgring trip with me. He is talking about shipping his Mustang GT over for the trip, then shipping it back when we are done. So the car would only come into Europe for a matter of a couple weeks. Can anyone give me some idea of the technical aspects of shipping it to me here in England? Or is it better to ship it to Germany? I know when my vehicle came over from the States, I was good to drive on my US plates for 30 days until all the light conversions, V5 paperwork, road tax, etc got sorted. But that was my car, in my name, driving around the local area.

The idea here is to maximise the time spent driving around a track, and minimizing the time spent at the local DVLA or German equivilant.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Don't bother telling me he/we are crazy, I already know.

Oher than costs, can't see why it would be an issue, a yank can bring his car here for holday no probs I'd have thought, (its gotta be road registered for 'ring on public days tho- just in case its a pure track car, closed track RMA day etc no probs tho)

A good customer of mine is this shipping company, www.gmtlog.com speak to jack & say I said call (Alex @ Lizard logistics) they should be able to help.

If that helps you out & when its here & you need the car shifted in UK or even to 'ring & back maybe you could then drop me a line

Cheers
