Just booked a trackday for me and my bro via bookatrack. Chosen to go to Elvington (airfield in near Hull) and spend the day in their stripped out 205 gti.

Its 4 months away (god, I am sad), but I am so excited I dont think i'll be getting much sleep for a while.

Just thought I would share it with you all!

Edited to say cheers to the members of this site who helped me in my decision; you know who you are!

Elvington is worse than Bruntingthorpe for stone chips - you have been warned!!

It must be a gravel trap then given the state of the cars from Saturday at Bruntingthorpe!

Why can't these track owners just trundle a road sweeper up and down them for a few hours each month????

OK, the date has changed to Aug 9th!

Getting really quite excited about the first trackday

There are 14 places left if anyone fancies a late booking? £99 I think from bookatrack

I'll be there on the 9th with my stripped out Pug 309,great times to be had at Elvington ,you'll find you can "explore the limits" a lot more than on a Circuit.
Road surface very tough on tyres - especially if you're driving enthusiastically .
Cant wait myself .

phew - recovered! that was a truly great time - we all got loads of time on track, I learnt how to properly power slide, the tuition was great and most important, the track was really good. what a great day! my chest and arms were aching like hell though until this morning through lots of oversteer action

Absolutly brilliant day.

Before anyone asks, yes I did manage to spin. Must remember not to lift off while approaching a bend at speed
Circuit was excellent, good place for beginners as there is nowt to hit (apart from the cones) and the open pit lane was an added bonus. All the guys and gals from bookatrack were great, Jonny didn't even flinch when the pug was returned minus the outside tread on the front tyres

The BAT 205gti was a cracking little motor, to anyone who has never done this sort of thing before DO IT! You wont regret it, and if you aint got a suitable car just use the 205

Just prepared to become addicted

Oh, minimax also needs a medal for "Most improved oversteer action"
Every time I checked the mirror to check the traffic, i was greated with a westie going sideways. Keep up the good work mate
