Palmersport Jaguar JP1
Purpose built car for Jonathan Palmer's latest driving experience package
Palmersport have introduced a new car to their range of machinery available for use at their purpose built facilities in Bedfordshire.
The JP1 is a sports car prototype similar in concept to those raced at Le Mans. Fitted with a Jaguar V6 engine the JP1 is capable of 180mph and more importantly it will give drivers a taste of purpose built machinery.
It uses a sequential six speed gearbox and can rocket to sixty miles and hour in just 3.6 seconds.

Didn't they say it cost £45k in the latest copy of Evo? So definitely on a par, though presumably much more downforce than an Ultima.
I thought the comparison with the Radical in Evo was a bit farcical though - they made a great deal of it lapping 1s faster, and then saying the fact it was on slicks (when the Radical wasn't) wouldn't have made much difference!? Ridiculous. Totally unbiased of course :-)

The car in the pic is actually my own car, with older glass fibre bodywork, painted in Jaguar corporate colours. The actual cars palmer use have a full width roll hoop and the V6 Jag engine. The car in the pic has the Opel 2 litre race engine, as the car is the factory built race car for the Supersport series. The makers are also doing some 1600 DOHC Toyota powered cars for the US market. About 45K plus engine will buy a new one, for the race series, whether the Jag V6 powered cars will be made commercially for re sale i don't know. Pic of my car with original carbon bodywork at:
