Chimaera on track. Roof on or off ?
Discussion
Will keeping the roof on during a track session:
a) provide any extra ridgidity / ride benefit
b) give any protection should a roll occur
Upon reading these questions back, i realise that they are both ridiculous. A chim roof is neither integral to the strength of the car, and would most definatly fall off during a roll - leading to lots more danger !
So - defo off. Anyone want to add anything ?

Roof on the car will go faster, you'll get less noise and buffeting so you may find it's easier to concentrate/less tiring, and if the worst comes to worst and you do end up shiny side down then having a skid plate between you and the road could make all the difference.
agree with that also i find the rear view mirror works much better with the roof on not that anyone will be overtaking u lol
Well, i thought i had it sorted. But now, notsosure.
If its raining, i will take the Raddo not the Chim. Or neither !
I do want to hear the RV8 in all its glory, plus i reckon it will be a bit claustrophobic in there with a helmet on anyway.
Good points about the rear view - which i suspect will be important on my 1st trackday.
Maybe i'll get one of those caravan mirrors to strap to the side of the nearside of the Chim...
Naaa, its still got to be roof off. I'll chance the upside down safety.
