There's a few of us heading to the ring on Saturday. I'm taking my Bluetooth GPS, laptop (WinXP), and mobile phone (Windows SmartPhone 2003). I've been hunting around for software to capture the raw GPS information and/or to display performance on a map when we return. I'd like to be able to analyse the speeds around the track. I realise it's not really accurate enough to show lines on the corners, but it's enough to show speeds at 1 second intervals around the track. I reckon that's enough. Has anyone used software like this before?

I've found a few bits and bobs, but nothing that ticks all the boxes. The best thing I've found is OakGPS, which seems quite good. I can't seem to capture the raw GPS data from my Bluetooth unit with the supplied software though. Any pointers from anyone on this?

Cheers,
Andy

Most modern data loggers will do this for you including speeds etc - not sure about this unit tho...

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I could buy a standalone datalogger, but not before we leave for the 'Ring in the (very) early hours of Saturday. I was just wondering if anyone had used a standard GPS receiver and a laptop to do a similar job. I can install some software before we go, but not buy a new piece of kit.

Cheers,
Andy
