Driving experience - Prestwold Hall?
Discussion
Hi All,
Wanted to call on anyone who has had experience at,or has been to Prestwold Hall for a driving experience?
I am organising a corporate day for myself and a few suppliers, but sadly can't get the 20 people needed for a Palmer Day
Had it in mind to do the Ferrari / Rally day which is about £380 per person.
Any input or advice greatly received ...

Hi
I did the rally half day a month or two ago - great fun! Couple of old 205 GTi's to learn lift-off oversteer and handbrake turns, Group N Polo for more l-o oversteer (both on dirt) and then into the Group N Evo IV on the tarmac/concrete which was the highlight. Felt like it was over in no time; 3 laps of the mile-long, 26-corner circuit but sadly only 3rd gear used.
I suspect it depends on who you get as instructor as to how much fun you can have, our group was substantially faster round the track in the Evo than any of the others as ours seemed to let us give it a load more stick
There's quite a lot of waiting around and there's not much there, just a couple of cabins with refreshments. I didn't do the Supercar bit though, sorry.

I did an experience at Prestwold last year. It was run by Everyman Racing.
4 laps in a Mercedes SL55 AMG.
4 laps in a Dodge Viper.
4 laps in a Lamborghini Diablo.
5 laps in a Noble M12 GTO.
5 laps in a Honda S2000.
The Honda was meant to be a Lotus Exige, but it had gearbox problems. That may be why they let us have 5 laps in the Noble and Honda.
It's a really great circuit. Instructors were generally good, too.

Thanks for the advice Guido. Two of the guys I am taking are serious car guys and have driven quite a few Ferrari's and done quite a few track days.
Thought the rally thing is something most people haven't experienced since being 17 and ruining the handbrake on the 1st car
The day is being run via Trackdays.co.uk
www.trackdays.co.uk/Driving-experiences/Prestwold-Experiences/Ferrari-Rally-Exp.htm
The rally itinerary is:
Familiarisation laps driving Subaru Impreza WRX STI on tarmac stage
Mitsubishi Evolution V on tarmac stage
VW Polo group N rally car on tarmac / loose gravel stage
Loose gravel stage in a group N rally car
The the Ferrari part:
3 Demo laps in Hot Hatch car
3 driving laps in a Subaru (or similar) with an ARDS instructor
3 laps driving a Ferrari 550
3 laps driving a Ferrari 360 Spider
That sounds like a good mix of cars Sayerbloke and good to hear that the instructors are good. That seems to be the main gripe about all these track days, if you get some grandad of a instructor who won't let you push the cars.
Thanks for the advice - will let everyone know what is was like (early October)
