Hi going over by train in 2 weeks.
A mate wants to come but his passport has expired. I have heard that a photo driving licence is acceptable, does anyone know if this is true or will I have to dump him at Folkestone with BFH?
thanks

Not a chance!! Who ever has suggested that you can use a photo driving license to leave/gain entry to a country is pulling your leg.

You can get a passport done in a few hours at your local processing place which if a its just a renewal is pretty straight forward. As its a busy time of year for holidayers, better get it sorted asap.

No, absolutely not.

You may have heard something about ID cards that other countries have (such as France) which are acceptable for them within certain other European countries.
