Hi All,

Does anyone know if some track days prohibit open wheel cars (single seaters) and are Locaterfields considered open wheel?

Not sure on single seaters but no "Locaterfields" are not open wheeled cars and are welcome at trackdays, they are ultimate trackday fun.........so I've been told on many, many occasions.

Dr Chuff - I think you will struggle with taking open wheelers on track days from a safety perspective they are not easily seen, and being open wheel V dangerous if they come into contact with saloons.

Certainly on MSA Test Days (not track days) they are always kept in seperate sessions......

The rules regarding single seaters (open wheeled cars) are venue specific. Currently the situation stands as:

Anglesey - SS Friendly
Llandow - SS Friendly
Goodwood - SS Friendly
Donington - SS Friendly
Mallory - SS Friendly
Rockingham - SS Sessions Only
Castle Combe - SS Sessions Only
Cadwell - SS Sessions Only
Brands Hatch Indy - SS Sessions Only
Snetterton - SS Sessions Only
Hethel - SS Sessions Only

Locaterfields are not considered "open-wheeled"

Not at Castle Combe they're not! The little buggers kept appearing from nowhere when I was doing the driving part of my ARDS test last year then promptly disappearing under the rear bumper of the Focus I was being tested in.
Every test day I've been to since has been the same, pootling round in my locost, minding my own business, check mirors on entrance to corner - nothing, sh!t myself as 3 Formula Fors overtake me on the exit....

For amusement, take a look at some Mallocks and try and define what is and what is not an open wheeler.

How about fitting your F3 with some mudguards and extending the sidepods out to the wheel line, kart style?

Malloc's are cool but very very when they decided to take the apex you are heading for from 100 yards back
