The Autocar Drift School (in Caterhams) was utterly superb - www.autocar.co.uk

Not sure how much time in the car you would get on the autocar day? best way i have found for maximum time sliding around in a car is to hire a caterham at elvington through bookatrack. i think last time i did it I managed well over 30 minutes out of every hour in the car (open pit lane day). They seemed more than happy for people to drive however they like, aslong as they aren't being dangerous. their caterhams are awesome fun to slide around and the track layout gave plenty of chance for drifting it. Not sure what the current price is, will be more than the autocar day, but it has always seemed like brilliant value considering the time in the car.

Granted, the in-car time on the Autocar day is certainly less than 30mins per hour. There were two teams of 14 people on the day. Still a fantastic day. Not overly expensive either at £199.

Of all the track days in all the world...

...these are the two options I came up with as well.

Spooky but reassuring

Thanks folks!

It's a shame...

Tracksport (based in Cheshire) used to do brilliant driftdays at Oulton Park, but since a disagreement with MSV it's all gone pear-shaped. Worth keeping an eye on the website though incase anything else comes along, either at Oulton or an alternative venue.
On their days you got to go round the circuits (rally) all day long, it was great for newcomers to drifting.

If you mean in your own car, you could book a practice day with Drift Academy (www.drift-academy.co.uk) for £85. They run on the Silverstone ATC skidpad area. Essentially it runs from around 10:00 till 12:30 then 13:00ish to 16:30 and you just line up with whoever else is there and take it in turns. Usually about 7-8 cars max but sometimes only 4-5.

I'd say it's ideal for refining your skills in a very safe environment as the course is quite simple. You can book a 20min instruction session for £25 if your still learning. The guys are actually D1 series drivers.

There is actually one running today. If you are into your driving you COULD have booked that plus there is a goldtrack track evening on the GP Circuit for £135 right after it .. yes, I know, too late now. Next Drift Academy practice day is on 17th July and there are a number of Goldtrack track evening on the GP circuit coming up.
