Hello,

Am looking at booking a day at Keevil but wondered how hard is it on tyres?

I have a set of soft semi-slicks to use of trackdays but if Keevil is particularly rough I can see them just ripping apart in no time at all.

I also have some crappy old tyres I used last year on trackdays (budget then didn't allow for new ones). Grip levels aren't massively high although they are extremely hard wearing.

Any advice?

Thanks

I have nothing to compare it with but I thought the surface was pretty good and in the dry with yoko 32Rs I got tons and tons of grip but it did shave a couple of mm off the front and about 3 off the back I think (estimated, I didn't measure it).

Keevil has a good all tarmac surface - however it is more abbrasive than race track stuff, it seems that the heat build up in normal tyres is worse on this surface, however with slicks or semi slicks the problem is not so bad. Last time out we ran road tyres in the morning (wet / damp conditions) which did cut up pretty badly, in the afternoon (dry) we ran slicks which barely wore at all.

Bit of a ramble but hopefully it helps.
