hi all, i hope im not breaking any rules on here but i would like to get some feedback from guys that do trackdays.
basically I'm looking into starting my own race prep company, as after 6 years of LMP1,2 and GT racing I'd like to think I could do a pretty good job!
I understand that track days have really took off, but is there a market for people that may own track day cars, but dont want to prep them themselves or take the cars to and from the circuit.I'm on the east sussex coast so its a pretty small area and not many circuits near to me but i guess there must be some around here!
also would there be a market for old hot hatch track day rental? like a mk2/3 gti etc.
Once again if i have broken any rules then i apologise but the only was to find out is to ask! thanks all

Sounds similar to what i do .. I don't take cars to circuits (well apart from my own) but do a lot of track day stuff and prep. There's a BIG market these days on track days and associated goodies/cars. You'll do well I'm sure given your background.

Funny you should mention Golfs as track cars, I have by coincidence two 20valve turbo Golfs in for suspension/mapping right now!

Best of luck with the venture should you go ahead!

Hi Steve, we've got a pair of 90's race saloons that were not being used this year and only by word of mouth have had several bookings for trackday hire within a couple of weeks, also had really good feedback from my car club. I'm sure you'll find it worth a go as well as the prep side. Best of luck with the venture.

I live in Wst sussex but don't know any good race prep companies that don't charge the earth, so I have most of my work done in Hampshire by this company www.sgr-engineering.co.uk/

I'd welcome more local and reasonably priced companies

I think the market is large for such companies

You're not all that far from Vixpy1's rolling road for tuning work either.

Good luck with the business.
