Diesel Seat Leon worth using on a trackday?
Discussion
Am curently 'between' track day cars and only have my daily drive (Seat Leon TDI) for enjoyment.
Would really love to do the Bedford track day on the 28th, but am concerned that the Leon won't be much cop on track and the standard setup (brakes, tyres, engine) won't be up to the demands of the GT layout and so the day could be a waste of money.
Not really looking to hire a track day car specifically for the day (funds won't allow currently)
Thoughts?

If you're 'between track day cars' and you drive your Leon every day, would you not be the best person to answer this? If you're experienced in track day cars you know the demands placed on a car - and as such you could apply this logic to your Leon?
Simply put, will you have FUN in your leon? If so - do it, if you suspect not (and considering it won't be your first time on track) you may find it frustrating.
Oh, and welcome to PistonHeads by the way

Tony - I know what you are saying and probably agree with you. I have been to Bedford a number of times (Impreza, RX-8) but have only done the GT circuit with the Impreza. I really like Bedford, and I think the Leon is pretty fun once you are pushing on, but i just wonder if the poor thing will wilt on the day...
TJ - it's the new 140 version, so not that worried about being down on power...i'll make sure i am out of faster cars way, but it should have enough 'go' to be fun. On a previous track day i was doing passenger lap trades with other drivers and was taken round in a little sport 'KA' and that was fantastic fun!

You could have a top time, I bought a "ring car" and took it to Bedford to try it out before taking it to germany, ended up squeeling everywhere hardly did any braking and even managed to overtake soem exotica!
IF nothing else you'll be able to do the whole day without stopping for fuel!!
