I've been talking to Bookatrack about doing another event in September. Rather than go back to Folembray twice a year I'd like to do something different.

We're considering going to Anglesey. It would be a different type of weekend with accomodation being in a very large cottage. It would be a cheap and cheerful weekend rather than a luxury affair (although the cottage does look very nice, has a pool table etc.) The cottage is self catering so we'd basically nip down to Tescos and buy a load of beer and grub and entertain ourselves for the evening.

The track day itself would be £99 with a small charge for the accomodation.

We'd probably have the option of using the track both days (2 x ~£99) if we wanted to make a mad session of it.

Is this of general interest?

Ted. I'm originally from Anglesey and my folks still live there. Can't think of owt more fun the combining a visit to the Ancestral home with some serious hooning.

I'd need to check with the Mrs that the proposed weekend doesn't clash with a cycling hols in France...given that id doesn't...I'd love to.

Could even be persuaded to sort out some local scenic stuff to go along with the Track time if anyone wanted it....

To summarise: Of interest: YES! Need to check when and make sure its possible....

Sounds great!

I guess it is going to have to be a very big cottage to house everyone , or do you intend for it to be a much smaller event than Folembray?

Count me in.

Yes, I'll like to try Anglesey! Couldn't negotiate "pass" for Folembray and Le Mans but I might manage this.

Cheers,

Andy.

Sounds good to me! As it's the old stomping ground, though, I might have to pass on the cottage and stay at the parental home instead... Still, the North Wales roads are fun...

Pics of the cottage are here:

www.bookatrack.com/bab/index.html

It sleeps 18 although it could do a few more depending on the level of comfort required

There are other places nearby too.

Definately! The "cottage" is huge and really comfortable. As for the circuit, it is excellent!

Yep, I'd be interested.
Ted, with only accomodation for 18 I suppose you'd be looking for 18 cars/drivers rather than 9 cars/drivers and 9 other halves? Which would be fine by me!
Cheers.... Andrew

Not sure how it will pan out. There are some double rooms there.

It won't be as warm as Folembray unless we're particularly lucky with the weather, so it may be less attracive to non-participating partners.

Ted seeing the demand you're getting then why not do Anglesey in July and then Croix or Circuit Du Val de Vienne in September??

Myself, Carzee, Andrew D and M@H stayed there last year with the BaT crew.

Bloody fantastic track, awesome. Technically very demanding. Very rewarding when you get a good 'un in. It was the first track day I had taken the Griffith too and was a little anxious. Wet windy, spanking new car etc etc

Did the ducks and drakes session and then stayed out. Track still wet, had a massive trouser filling moment braking for school at the end of start finish but managed to gather it together and never looked back .... Can't wait to go again, and as a PH bash it would be superb.

The track allows both types of track days driving ... massive gooning opportunities but also the challenge of getting a fast lap in by getting technically correct.

Can we make it a double header Ted ? 2 days ?? Go on !!

The cottage is an old Farm Cottage and will sleep 18 handsomely. The kitchen table is even bi enough for everyone to sit around aswell

That cottage isn't going to accomodate everyone is it? What other accomodation is there in the area?

You got the beer last time, so you should cook the brekkie this time !

It would help if we had electricity though

Alex,

There a 3 or 4 smaller cottages that are scattered around nearby.

Otherwise there is the Maelog Lake Hotel which is only a mile or so from the circuit. I believe Dave also has details of another hotel nearby

Johno,

But we have a trackday to organise
