Well, my first trackday at Bedford on the GT circuit has now come and gone and I can honestly say it was one of the most fun days I've ever had. I found that I didn't have the worry of crashing like I do on bike trackdays and so part of the adrenalin hit was missing, but it was probably more relaxed because of it. Most of the day was spent working out how hard I can use the brakes and keep them effective. The rest was split between driving in an entertaining fashion (chucking it in and drifting it out ) and actually driving to go quickly which I found is a surprising amount faster than when you're showboating. Lol.

The brakes on the bimmer held on, just, but never really felt 100% confidence inspiring. The pedal, although still firm-ish felt like I had blocks of wood in the calipers instead of the Ferodo 2500s that I had upgraded to. The Goodyear F1s held up alright too, but they've blued on the shoulders somewhat and have "interesting" tufts hanging off of them.

Another highlight during the day was a few passenger laps in a Radical SR3 which was mind blowing. Didn't feel as quick as a bike in a straight line, but thoroughly impressive through the corners. I loved it. Many thanks to John for taking me for a spin. Bloody awesome.

Glad you had a good time. Bedford: long, but oh so good.

I've never been to a circuit that long before. It certainly gives you plenty of space to play.

I had great fun too. I was in the blue 996 turbo which me and a mate were taking turns in. This was my second time at Bedford in this car and the first time with my new Pagid yellow pads and ATE racing blue brake fluid. Compared with the first time there when I had little in the braking dept by the end of the day , it was great this time.
I may try Donnington next!
