Purchased the Circuit Driver Interactive Circuit Guide of Silverstone at the Autosport Show, and spent the weekend playing with it, and have to say that despite not being Mark Hales biggest fan, its a really impressive product and Mr.Hales does an excellent job of presenting it, and really helping to improve the viewers lines and technique around the circuit.

The format is Mark Hales driving a Caterham around the circuit, with a camera on the roll cage looking through the screen, another camera is on his helmet (so you can see how far ahead he is looking) another camera is on the right hand side of the car ( so you can see exactly where the right hand wheel is placed ) and another camera on the left hand side, for the same reason. It is possible to switch between enlarged versions of each view as whilst lapping, and in addition there is a view from a helicopter looking down. Pi Research data logging readouts are available simultaneously.

There is also what I assume as a bonus to launch the product which is in car footage of Mr.Hales driving a Ferrari 250GTO around Silverstone, which is fabulous.

My only critism is that the sun is particularly low in the sky during filming ( I assume late afternoon ) which limits the detail in some of the views.

I really hope that this guide is a success and moves on to cover other circuits.

Regards, Tim Raven ( one of Mr.Hales' little people ! )

I'm interested in this. When will it be available via their site for purchase?

Don,

If you blunder around as though you are going to place a subscrption for the mag you'll find an option for the In-car Active DVD. Or here: https://www.secure-server.co.uk/forms/ss0779.cfm

I picked a copy up at the show and am still trying to get it to work but I think that is because I'm on lowly Windows ME and it requires Windows 2000 or above.
