If you get the option start with the 4x4 course and the evo as to be honest they are really just a taster of what is to come and it is nice to settle your nerves to start the day. Then just have the most fun you can have with your clothes on The palmer jags, single seater audi and caterham were the real meat of the day for me and an experience I will never forget. Enjoy.

It is a very well organised outfit where the instructors really know their stuff. You are encouraged to take all the cars to the red line and there are some good tracks. I have done 2 motorsport sensation days there and one track day on the Gt circuit. The formula Palmer jaguar and the single seaters are a true taste of motorsport. If petrol is in your veins you will love it

There's no Evo this year - Replaced with a 996 :-)

There are 20 of us going on Aug 3rd - Should be fantastic!

Sounds great. How much does this cost?

Cost is dependant on when and how many - Best to budget for around 650-700 + VAT. Not cheap, but great value.

I've doen this experience before

my advise is get toca 3 for the pc. its only 18 quid

it has the same tracks and cars to play with, so you can learn the layout of the circuits etc.

Lucky so-and-so You're gonna love it. The instruction is excellent & they'll have you flying round the track in no time. I've done it twice and the only advice I would give is to not hold back on the single seaters. First time I did this and was annoyed with myself for wasting the oppurtunity. Made up for it second time around tho'..those things grip like a grippy thing

Oh...and be sure to wear a nice narrow pair of trainers...you'll need them in the caterhams.

so jealous..

I'll be there as well - although as a spectator this time... I've done about 15 of these days there before (and won every prize other than the overall driver of the day - despite winning 4 of the events last time...), but this time have booked my Dad on the day to celebrate his 60th birthday.

Without doubt it's the top novice driving experience day in the UK, very professional with great cars and fantastic instructor attitudes.

Best tip is to relax and enjoy it - trust in the instructors and the cars and remember to treat the cars smoothly and gently (except the caterhams which after setting a 'banker' lap are just hooning machines ).

I'll be with the vid cam and digital SLR all day so will be taking loads of pics...

Agree - but strange thing is that I've won them all at various events, and was never lower than 4th on that day for the ones I didn't win... ho hum

but hey - give me another excuse to go again )

What a day, as everyone said, very well organised, excellent instructors and immense fun, ended up going out in the single seater Palmer Audi's as the first car on a track (did the 4x4's and caterham sprint first), wished this was at the end of the day as I soon realised what I thought was pushing it was a gentle drive.

115 people there on the day and who sits next to me at breakfast but TVR forever and his Dad, (nice to meet you and hope he enjoyed it as much as I did.)

Surprise of the day - the Renault Clio's amazing level of grip and 'chuckability'

Palmer 911's with a paddle shift that worked were brill and the 350Z for a 'std' road car (air con turned on) were fast and comfortable.

Regretted doing the go Karts came off them feeling sick, loved the Caterham's, Palmer Jag's felt brutal.

Did not win anything, did notice all prize winners had their own racing boots on

on that thought they did supply plimsoles for the cars that needed narrow shoes, and gloves for the open top cars.

Would I go again

yes but its worth it. i'd rather do 1 jp day than 10 'supercar experience' days, which kinda makes it a bargain.

It is without a doubt worth the money, I went on a corporate day with Mr Palmer himself there as he was a friend of my old MD (they turned up in his helicopter). I was rubbish pretty much the whole day - kept having off's including one at probably 130mph in the JP1, my favorites were the Formula Palmer Audi and the overall highlight was doing the caterhams at the end of the day with some total nutter called Heinrik.

I got in the car for the demo lap with Heinrik and laughed the whole way round then said to him as we were swapping over my brain didn't really get the whole concept of opposite lock, within the 10 odd laps I was pulling powerslids down most of the lengh of the straight (just afer the pit exit) and loving every second he was the best instructor I had by a mile! I didn't seem to get on with either the instructor I had for the EVO or the Clio which were the two I think I could have improved my driving the most with.

Infact this is making me want to save up the money to go on it again...

I've done "experiences" at both Thruxton and Enstone and neither were a patch on this for driving fun, you get to drive as fast as you can and faster with excellent tuition (most of the time). The comparison on the single seater at Thruxton and Bedford was a joke, at Thruxton there was a LOW rev limit and it was all a bit safe and Bedford you have a MUCH faster car and no limits other than if you have two offs or your driving like an idiot you'll get black flagged - most amasing driving experience of my life!

Was there today and it was better than ever - The Porsche 996 is just awesome - they have done some major suspension work on them and the chassis is now closer to a GT3 than a Carrera 2 (so I'm told - this was my first drive in a 911). The mix of cars/circuits is even better than last year:-

West Circuit - FPA and JP1
South Circuit - 996
North Circuit - 350z and Clio Cup
East Circuit - Caterham

Plus the karts and off road.

Highly recommended.
