Silverstone RR v Toyo 888
Discussion
I found the Toyo 888 dire on my RWD Skyline, even with the geo fully optimized. I KNOW this sort of tyre gives a very compromised wet grip, but compared to Pirelli P-Zero Corsas or Michelin Pilot Sport Cups they were a joke. Dry grip seems poor, in comparison, too. They DID give good feedback, and were VERY progressive on breakaway and recovery, but I am about to try P-Zero Corsas on the same set up. What are these Silvertsones you mention Tim? BTW, the nosie from the 888's was appalling, it really does soound like you have multiple wheel bearing failure on some surfaces, but i mention that merely in passing, as i expect a true performance tyre to be severely compromised in some ways.
I found the R888 had huge grip on my Sierra Cosworth but i'm comparing them to Yokohama road tyres which i have used on previous trackdays. I will be buying them again when these ones are past their best. I wouldn't bother trying to use them on the road though as the noise & ride quality is very poor indeed & if its raining don't bother with them, in the dry they are excellent, knocked a few secs of my laptimes.

Do a search on Silverstone RR tyres, look good in the flesh much more like a cut slick than 032's or 888's. trying to find some feedback on them before I buy.
Ive found 888's better than equivelent Dunlop, Yoko etc, fair in the wet (but nothing like a wet tyre) very good in the dry.
I cant afford Michelins like Chris
