Ok, I've been on many good trackdays, but just about all local ones in the SW are on airfields. Whilst I would not have a word said against Motorsport Events and there days, they can eventually become a bit "samey".
So what about Castle Combe 24th March including all the instruction you could want £165 for the day. Myself and a couple of others are up for it, who else?

Was at a combe one on Saturday. Looked pretty decent and safe, apart from some rather dodgy looking '80s Golf and Jetta GTi's but even so there was no bad behaviour. It was very quiet as the TT owners club could not get many takers, so there was only a maximum of probably 10-12 cars on track at peak time. What's the norm for number of cars on track?

Watching at quarry for a while, it looked pretty safe if you're sensible although it's said to be a tricky one and people come a cropper there. Is that just because they are being idiotic and there's no gravel traps and a pretty small run off area?

I am SW so would be up for castle combe track days.

With which track day company or are you organising it direct?

My insurance stipulates certain venues and organisers for the 4 track days I am allowed.

I would need plenty of instruction to keep me from smashing my car to bits!

I think 12 cars or thereabouts is the max allowed. I've been there with the TVRs several times and it is always run in sessions of 12 or so.

The thing with Quarry is that you can be going at very high speed coming into it (through Avon Rise) the car goes light over the crest and if you've left your braking too late you find you have no grip combined with the need to keep left before turn in. If you make a hash of it it can all go pear shaped very quickly and as you say there is little in the way of an escape. Most circuits have at least one corner where you have to be sensible, Castle Combe has a few! Great fun though.

March 24 th is the day before the Caterham Graduates are racing at Combe so there will be plenty of cars on the track day on the Friday....including me.
It's a quick circuit and plenty of fun.

The norm at CC is 10-12 cars out at a time.

100 to low, If you want to do track days you better sort out your noise problem, as that is going to be the norm everywhere soon, and most decent tracks aren't much higher anyway!

thats why i dropped it from 128db. sad isn't it.
maybe you neighbours shouldn't have bought a house in a village build round and off the money your track has bought into the area...the wonkers!

I Know, I would love to live next to the circuit, And one of the protestors (I think it was about 5-10 in the end) had only lived there 18 months, and obviously, it's easy to hide a race track!!

LNT racing went home in disgust from the GTs last year...had noise problems!
