Trackday virginity loss/Tyre Questions
Discussion
Hi all - 1st post so please don't flame me for the newbie questions!
Have had the breadvan about 2 years and would like to get into this trackday malarkey. From what I read here and elsewhere, Elvington sounds like a good starter for the novice, though I gather tyre wear is heavy. My rear tyres are fairly worn and likely to need replacement in the next few months anyway, so I figured why not get them replaced immediately after the day.
Anyone know if bookatrack etc would accept delivery of mail order tyres at the track (their own "fitted" prices are understandably way above the market!) and have fitters on-site at the end of the day? Don't fancy driving home on with 2 illegal boots.
Also, I'm thinking of changing from Conti Sports to Goodyear F1s, but this would obviously mean the fronts wouldn't match the rears for a while - is this likely to be a big problem?
Finally - any suggestions for cheap mail order? Blackcircle seems reasonable.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if they'll accept delivery of your tyres, but they will swap them for you for £10-£15 quid each. Mytyres are generally cheaper than BlackCircles (eve with the PH discount), but BC are a site sponsor so you might want to support Ted this way.
As long as you keep the same tyres on each axle then it won't matter that you've got one type on the front and another on the rear. I regularly use P-Zero, Michelin PS2, and Contisport SC2 on the front and rear of mine and just get a pair of whatever is the cheapest when I need them.

This will be no problem at all. I put Eagle F1's on the back of my breadvan (they're great btw) while it had Dunlop sports on the front.
