When for the ring?

In your experience what month is the best to go to the ring?
OK weather and less chance of traffic jams on the track?
And is a weekday visit much better than a weekend?
Cheers
Best month for me last year was March and April, the rest of the time I was queueing.
A weekday visit is the best, well that's if you like doing laps without seeing another vehicle.

I'm not sure when I went in April...it was when Sabine was driving the transit.
I also remember, a race was cancelled in March due to fog.....and the next day the weather was perfect, I 'think' thats when you took me for a lap in your car.

Week or so later in April the track was closed for the weekend due to very bad mist/fog. To make matters worse it was the only weekend in 2005 I was there in the porsche.

Edited to say, I got the dates wrong. We were there on 16/17th April.

The first race on the schedule, 19 March, was cancelled about a week ahead of time because the winter had been so cold and wet that circuit off-season repairs could not be completed on schedule.
The snow that aborted what should have been the third race fell on 22/3 April. By midday on the 24th it was gone, although the track remained quite slippery.

AAndy,
If you want a nice, empty track experience you'll be better off going on a weekday where just the evenings are open.
If you go on a public weekend it'll be mad. Too crowded and with a high contingent of those who can't tell the difference beteen a video game and real life.
As for weather - its in a mountain range... ie. you CANNOT guarantee it. I've been in March and had burning sunshine and been in May and had snow. It's a mountain.
However, I would advise going to soak up the atmosphere rather than drive as much as you can and get your fastest lap time in. There are plenty of very friendly petrolheads from around Europe, the most amazing display of cars, lots of places to view from and great beer. It's a good weekend
Enjoy!
