As an ex-racer who has become a responsible father now (!) I now have to get my kicks in a road car. Step forward a 1988 911 3.2 Carrera Targa.

As you (or I anyway) can't get the same experience on a road as on a track, a track day or two would seem to be the obvious choice. So, do I do a "novice" day as I've not don one before, or decide "sod it, I've spent over 10 years at hillclimbs, sprints, rallycross etc. tracks so I should know what I'm doing ".

What are the benefits of a "novice" day ? Will I just get frustrated or will I learn anything ?

Answers on a postcard....

with your experience I would tend to book up a normal TD. You can go in the novice or intermediate class on that day and then move up to a higher class if your old talents are coming back to you quickly.
