A friend is looking to do their second ever track day in their <lightweight mid engined car> in April or later. They have only ever done 1 track day before, I think it was at Bedford but I'm not sure.

I was hoping to get some suggestions for a possible second one. They live in the North-of-London area and would rather not travel too far. I am tempted to go on it too, for me it would be my first trackday. So something in the Gloucesterhire-to-London area or so would be ideal.

Sorry for being vague, it would be a present (not from me) and I don't want to give it away!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks

Russell

Yep road legal.

I am very local to castle combe and did my ARDS there but, for my first time on track (apart from the ARDS) would like something less scary!

What about if we forget the distance stipulation then? Just anywhere for a first or second track day that isn't too scary?

thanks

I've found Brands indy the easiest of all the tracks i've done so far. Well, actually cadwell but everyone else says it's really tricky.

Yeah Brands is a piece of cake, And silverstone has good run off's being An F1 circuit.
What about some of the places that use Airfields as circuits?? (don't ask me where!)
Mallory park, Not much to remember there!!
And maybe Pembrey?

I'm not sure I would choose Coombe after having done 1 day at Bedford with almost infinite run off!

Brands is good but the indie circuit perhaps a little short for the usual cost of a TD there. I really enjoyed Donnington, and thats got a fair amount of run off. Highly recommended.

I Marshal at 99% of them, I haven't been sent the Availability for this year, They've been a bit busy due to the fact they have now decided to organise race meetings there self, It is now Castle Combe Racing Club, and no longer BRSCC, so no more crapy 6 car Ferrari races!
As for doing track day, I took my car on About 2 years ago for the Spring Action day, Trust me to pick one of the busiest days of the year (after JapFest/Kamakazi day!)
I would do it again, but I'd need a lower seat as I am 6 ft tall and I get literarly wedged in bacuse of the tilt/slide sunroof!!

Normally I do Bobbies or Old Padock with a Silver Xantia parked somewhere close to me with a Senns 'S' in the rear window

Will you be Marshalling at the Porsche Club Days?

If so...go easy on the bloke in the red Boxster S...he's a nice chap and doesn't break the rules much hardly at all and has never spun at Combe yet...and he has to pedal harder than the guys in the GT3s and.....
