What's Brands hatch's Indy circuit like?

I done a trackday there last year, but being my first one I can't compare it.
I thought it was a great track, fast bends, slow bends, quite a nice straight which i managed to get to 120 but you could probably get to more.
the bend at the end of the straight was the trickiest, almost caught me out a couple of times.
Its definately somewhere I would go back again
And the facilities at brands are great, nice little cafe on the pit lane

Yep but they are all on the GP circuit which is about 2.6 miles.
I was just wondering if 1.2 miles is long enough to enough in a car?

BTCC, F3 and almost all national racingtakes place on the Indy circuit. It really doesn't matter that it's only 1.2 miles, as it's 1.2 miles of variety.
Forgive me if I have misinterpreted you, but from your post it seems you have not much track experience. Believe it, 1.2 miles is more than long enough for learning how to push your car to its limits. I would be very surprised if, after your first day there, you get to within 5 seconds a lap of what your car is truly capable of. You will learn a lot, and enjoy doing it.
Grab an instructor as often as possible, you'll get much more from the day.

I was interested in the above circuit but at only 1.2 miles it seems a tad short for Cars? Even Donnington at 2 miles seemed a tad short (but great).
I was just wondering if anyone had been around it?

I have been round Brands Indy many, many times. Its great fun. Its short enough to learn your way around very quickly - but difficult enough to keep you at it trying to get your best lap for a long old while.
Try it for yourself. You'll have a great time. Paddock Hill - what a blast!
I did my first track day on the indy track... in the rain! The first bend is very challenging. I went into the gravel once, and fishtailed down the hill on another occasion. The best part of the track is the last sequence of bends that takes you back onto the track (clearways/mclarens/clark, I think they're called). It's quite tricky to get them right. I'd probably have another go at Brands just to see how I get on in my Westfield (I did it in a Pug. 205GTI). But to be honest, I think it is overpriced for what it is. Cadwell Park, on the other hand, is superb, and usually a lot cheaper. It's a long drive from the south, but worth it.

In a fast car (sub 50 second laps) without PAS it's quite tiring because so little time is spent in a straight line that you don't get to rest your arms. Also consider the effect that's having on brake cooling and so on. A 30 minute session (if you stay out there) is longer than many sprint races last.
And be careful on the way out of Clearways. Lose it there (like Woodcote at Silverstone) and a meeting with the barrier is almost a cert.

Doing a track day there on Sunday in the Cerb, can't wait
Did drive round in the V8S last year but that was for a feature in Classic Car Mag and we weren't allowed to go fast (fair enough). Am looking forward seeing how the Cerb is round there, although having read some of the posts above I'm a little now !

Did a day's marshalling there last summer (on paddock hill mostly) and it looked a riot. Some places you don't want to get it wrong but on a track day you shouldn't be hitting that spot immediately but should be working up to it gradually. In that light I don't think any track should be scary!

Oh bs I'm working sunday, otherwise I would have joined you, or at least come to watch.
definately get an instructor to show you the best lines, you'll enjoy it much more then, although when Mark did it he still ended up in the gravel and that was with the instructor in the car
have fun and let us know how you get on, If I can't do one then at least I can read about how much fun everyone else is having, I think I've got track day blues
