A silly question...

I currently drive a volvo 340 1.4. i am conisdering to upgrade my car for track day purposes.

should i stick a v6-v8 engine+gearbox, depending how big engine will fit under hood, into my volvo 340 and upgrade the suspision, install safety stuff like rollcage etc.

or bag the volvo altogother and find other cheap rear wheel track day car?

I think you should keep it & convert it as decribed, but with a mid mounted 7Ltr V8 (supercharged & nitros of course).

If you visit www.easytrack.co.uk you'll find there is a chap who takes a 360 on track days (saw him at Donington earlier this month). He's posted on a thread called 'best trackday car' - you can e mail him from there. I'm sure he'll be of help... he's very keen on his Volvo!
