Just got this from Steve Bennett at Circuit Driver
Tragic for Cancer to take the life of someone so young.

Bob Maclaren
Dear all,
It is with great sadness that I must report the death of Circuit Driver's
MD, and close friend, Bob Maclaren.
Bob passed away peacefully last night after a long but spirited battle with
cancer. He was 32.
Over the past couple of weeks Bob had been working on plans for a charity
track day event with Jonathan Palmer in aid of the Royal Marsden hospital,
Ipswich hospital's Sommersham Ward and the St Elizabeth Hospice, where Bob
underwent treatment. In accordance with his wishes we plan to continue with
this event in Bob's memory and hope that we can count on your support for
this very worthwhile cause.
Full details to follow but for now our thoughts are with Bob's wife, Emma
and daughter Isabel.
Bob will be greatly missed by the motorsport and track day world not to
mention his many friends. He achieved much in a short time quite often at
high speed. Think of Bob clocking 176mph on the Rickinghall bypass in a
Porsche GT3 laughing his head off.
Go well Bob.

Bob was also a PHer.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who swapped emails with him. He was a real Porschephile as well.
An absolute shame.

I had read about Bob's illness in a recent edition of CD and he seemed very positive about fighting the disease and building his new Caterham. His passing so soon after this news is very sad indeed. At 32 he should have had so many more years in front of him. It reinforces my view that you have to live for today.
RIP Bob
