Anglesey Circuit
Discussion
This short, but technical circuit, is great for a day out. I went a couple of weeks ago and although i was passenger all day (i don't currently have a driving licence!) it was really enjoyable!
Anyone got any other experiences of Anglesey? If anyone has a video link it would be appreciated as the only one i can find is from a caterham.
Cheers

You should be able to find something here: www.jimbocam.com/
Been a few times and love the circuit, it just needs to be moved about 400 miles South-East

I grew up on Anglesey and go there occasionally when staying with the folks.
Tight. Technical. I had a lot of trouble getting to grips with it. But its fun trying.
The thing with it is that every corner and straight is compromised by the next one - unlike some larger circuits where fluffing one corner still lets you "have a go" at the next one. Mastering it IMO takes a LOT of practice. There again I'm crap at it so what do I know?

I had my first track day there a couple of weeks ago with the MR2 bunch all arrange through BaT. I had been on previous tracks as either a passenger or 2nd driver, but this was the first time in my own car.
I had one hairy moment loosing the back end in School, but managed (somehow???) to bring it back in after some serious tail-fishing. Most of my day was spent learning the car's and my own personal limits. Brilliant day!
Video of another hairy moment (this time going into Radar) with myself as a passenger in someone elses supercharged MKI MR2. Fortunately the driver is very experienced and had competed in 2004's Formula Women series:

Another video showing some highlights of the day:

did you go on sun 23rd? see the silver skoda fabia? i was passenger in that all day!
We (MR2 peoples) were there for both days, although IIRC, only a couple took their cars out on the sunday too. I was just doing the same as you on the Sunday Sunday was also the day we had a close shave with the marshal point going into Radar (video link above)...
I do remember seeing the Fabia, but don't recall any of the occupants...

well we spent most of the day either on the track, or eating! plus we new the skoda octavia vRS owner so spent most of the time off the track chatting him.
I remember you guys now, the Fabia was suprisingly fast but the vRS was bargetastic. I'll say hello next time, I spent most of the time off track that day fettling my 205 Mi16 and convincing my new pal Simon to buy it. Which he has now done and his wife will probably live to regret.
If I can find a trailer in time then my new toy comes out to play at Anglesey on the 27th. There's a few of us planning to go that day.
Nope, no trailer and no modified sump yet so I gave it a miss. I didn't fancy driving the Indy there in the rain and cold only for it to blow the engine due to oil starvation. A couple of the lads from work went so I'll no doubt get a report next time I'm in the office. I'll see if either of them have any pics.
Even that map seems to understate the bends...Abbots can't be that much of a kink, and I swear the Douglas's have more to them as well.
Done Anglesey twice...and can attest to it's fun and difficulty. There's at least two different lines through Radar/Abbotts, and if you mess things up round one corner, there's only really two straights to sort you out - pit straight and before the hairpin.
Great circuit, just that the 4-hour slog there is a little offputting...esp when Donny is comparatively on-your-doorstep!

What price are you chaps/chapeses paying?
Me and a pal are considering a jolly their next year. Any campsites nearby?
Another BIG question, do you bother with insurance or not? I know thats probably more a personal choice, but i believe you can be talking around the £100 mark per visit, and as we will probably only be doing two visits per year it doesnt seem wise to pay for an annual policy.
One last question, how is it for stone chips? having recently had mine replaced at a cost of £1100 i'm a bit concerned.
And the ver last question, what are the run offs like? as i may be needing them being a first timer!
Maybe i should have started my own thread up!
Cheers in advance folks.
