I only went for two nights, but ate at Acqua Rossa in Francorchamps both nights.

Also the basement motorsport museum in stavelot is definitely worth a visit.

The route there is largely boring no matter which route unless you head south into France then cut across, I did it once like 20 years ago but can t for the life of me remember the route used a map biggrin

If you get to Spa the roads towards the Ring are much better but be aware snow is possible tin March. I spent some time finding the old F1 circuit roads.

From the North West I travel to Hull and get the ferry overnight to Rotterdam. Once off in Rotterdam I head to Mcdonalds on the way! 3hrs later your at Spa.

Dover - Dunkirk and drive via Brussels is horrific and I wont do it unless I am forced driving

IF you wanted your 1.5hrs from the Nurburgring to visit.

If not Spa has museums in the town worth a see, plenty of WW2 bits around if your into that also.

If you've not got a hotel La Source is good but expensive at the track, Alternatively I stay here. Much better price, food is brilliant, has a Spa if needed.

Hotel de la Source. Has underground parking, and is very close to the track

This. A decent place to stay although gets booked early near track days usually.

If Radisson - its out of the way the parking and secluded parking next to the hotel. (can google earth it to have a better look) Felt extremely safe when I go to it.

Been to Spa last two years for track days and it's a great place to do a track day but there's not a whole lot going on in the surrounding areas when outside of the F1 period. You are about an hours drive from the Nurburgring at Spa so if you haven't been before it's worth a drive over to have a look around there

Domaine De Malchamps does pretty good food and is about three miles from the circuit at Stavelot.
As it’s mentioned in the post above, I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than go to the Nürburgring. I know that it’s only an hour away but for me it’s a totally different experience.

What's wrong with the Nurburgring? They are different but complement each other well, at least comparing TD to TD.

A few years ago I did a couple of double-headers, day at 'Ring/day at Spa, day off in between, amazing trips.

Absolutely love a Ring / Spa double header, preferably the Ring first.

I managed a morning at Spa once and caught the TF that afternoon despite torrential rain on the way there at lunch time on semis. So a semi double header.

The Palace Radisson is now a Van Der Valk, the only Radisson now is the one up the hill which means your stuck out of town if you wanted to have a beer.

I head over on the tunnel, boring drive to Namur for lunch. Then head south and then east for a fun drive through the Ardennes to Spa. Did this a few times but its a long day by the time you get to Spa. Last visit I did a stopoff in Bruges both ways, Hotel bike into town to the beer tour etc. Parking is safe at Hotel Velotel.

If you like ww2 stuff....
Dec44 Museum is really close to Spa
Bastogne War Museum is about 30mins away.
