Track days in EV, brands
Discussion
Not wishing to be the voice of doom, but isn't your car leased via salary sacrifice?
I've only ever tracked my own car that's of a value that I can accept it being written off. What happens if you punt it into a tyre wall, or worse roll it, I presume all insurance would be void as you're not the owner of the car and don't have their consent to take it on track. I've seen plenty of people at track days with number plates covered, presumably for this reason, but that's one hell of a risk on a brand new £65k car where the lessee is presumably your employer.

Yes you are correct , a massive risk indeed , and as you stated why so many number plates are covered, but driving it on a track for me is safer than pushing it on public roads , but ultimately my decision I've only ever tracked my own car that's of a value that I can accept it being written off. Wow, that’s pretty wild risk. There’s a strong chance you’ll be fine and no-one will ever be the wiser.
Having done a number of track days, it often isn’t the drivers fault they get into an accident, more likely the other complete mad men/women around you that lose control/spin which has a knock on effect or a direct impact to you.
Last time at thruxton I saw a Porsche 911 turbo turn up late and get binned within 15mins by the mental MX5 gang who turned up that day - felt so sorry the the guy but it was not his fault, they were racing around him and took each other out, and him.
Is it worth a £65k liability and losing your job for?
If you go for it, fair play, you’ve got balls of steel. Best of luck.

You could pick tracks that are lower risk, I'd say Bedford is pretty safe, very wide open track, plenty of visibility and not really much to hit, although apparently there's some big ruts in the green stuff so it's best not to go exploring too much.
Blyton Park and Anglesey would also fall into that category. EddyP said:

I can't say I know what the T&Cs of a SS contract state but from memory on a lease PCP etc the words are along the lines of the vehicle can't be used for racing or time trials. Trackdays do not allow you to time your laps and it certainly isn't a race.
