MB E63S on track……where to go?
Discussion
I have done plenty of track days in smaller / lighter FWD/RWD and a few in heavier saloons plus multiple Palmer days. No expert mind!
I have recently bought a W213 E63S (one of the best cars I have owned, deeply impressive and characterful) and want to stretch its legs a bit and get to know its handling traits a bit better.
It’s obviously not a track car and I don’t want to use it as one. Just want a few hours where I can have a play without being a dick on the road.
Thoughts on best tracks / airfields for this, latter perhaps preferred as far lower risk.
Thanks

silverstone trackdays are ruinously expensive.... i'd get straight to bedford, proper circuit, with long wide straights.
motorsport events used to be the go to for airfield trackdays, but the current offerings are quite minimal, and they arent that much cheaper than a day at bedford. plus airfield surfaces are very abrasive, so you'll destroy tyres if you're sliding around.

Bedford is horrendous for heavy cars. It has too many really slow corners and not enough high speed corners.
You want fast flowing circuits - Goodwood, Brands Hatch GP, Thruxton. To a lesser extent Donington.
Silverstone as well, I guess, just let the car ease off a bit before the really slow corners that require very heavy braking.
Goodwood and Brands GP could be really exhilarating - they're worth the high cost. I've been to Snetteron and Silverstone but the highest speeds I've ever reached on a track day have been at Goodwood.
