Hi all
I know there was quite a large price jump for Silverstone GP TD's this year and compared to others carry a 3-400 premium. For those that have been this year do you feel the premium is worth it?
I don't mind paying more and especially if this means less numbers, open as opposed to sessions and driver standards.
Any experiences/opinions?

The premium is unfortunately more to do with how few trackdays are now run there rather than the low numbers on track. Not to say they are necessarily overbooking but I imagine they will not be trimming numbers below normal amounts and because of the small number of days available it’s likely that most will book up, especially over the summer.
But it is a big circuit, relatively easy to overtake and fabulous to drive, just a shame that the BRDC doesn’t seem to want us on it very much.
ETA. Regarding driving standards, unfortunately you can count on race teams practicing and supercar drivers that wouldn’t lower themselves to anything less proper than a GP track so etiquette can be, lets say, variable .

As Steve says, the price reflects the reduced number of trackdays, the numbers are still quite high. Be prepared to mix it with race teams essentially using it as a test day so you must check your mirrors even if you are in a normally relatively fast car as they will be faster.
Oh and at least it’s a chance to study the rear bumpers of a lot of experience day McLarens as you sit right behind them round the corners but they fail to let you past on the straights…
(The only good thing is no more Radicals, they used to be a bit sketchy sometimes with their very different style of driving.)

Yes, up to a point, but it's the fact that downforce cars like the Radical are designed to carry speed into corners where others cars are braking, it's a recipe for accidents in the trackday format. It's similar to mixed class GT racing where LMP cars take out GT's that simply don't see them coming and can't get out of the way fast enough.I think it is more a question of the driver than which car they are driving
