These seem to be universally loved but there’s conflicting information on the road legality of them, I know they are E marked/rated but some sites say they are road legal and others say they are sold for competition use only and are stamped as such on them even though they are E marked?
Has anyone here got a set on their car recently that they can check please?
To be clear though, I’m not planning on using these 24/7 just want to know if they’ll be legal for the occasional drive to and from tracks on spare wheels if I know the weather is deffo gonna be nice or if I can’t be bothered switching them out at the end of the day. Aldo looking at doing the javelin sprint series in standard vehicles class. Thanks

Dunlop (if this is their website and not that of a random just using the name) seem to be saying it is road legal:

The Dunlop Direzza DZ03G is continuously setting the benchmark in terms of E-marked, thus road legal, track tire performance in dry or slightly damp conditions. The Dunlop Direzza DZ03G in 195/60 R14 has the following measurements:
Although it also says the following, which suggests it is not a dunlop website and that they are dodgy for road legality... loltyre website said:
Road legal
The Direzza DZ03G complies with the uniform provisions concerning the approval of pneumatic tires for motor vehicles and their trailers, ECE-30. Nevertheless, the label on any DZ03G reads: “For use on race circuit only. Do not use on public roads.”
Please note that the Dunlop Direza DZ03G was designed only to be fitted on vehicles intended exclusively for racing and therefore the regulation on the labeling of tires with respect to fuel efficiency and other parameters, regulation (EU) 2020/740 of the European Parliament and of the council, does not apply.
In other (and much shorter) words, even though these tires are E-marked, we are only allowed to advertise the DZ03G as racing-tires.
We do not recommend using these tires more than strictly necessary on public roads due to its average aquaplaning resistance.

I've known of cars making it through an MOT with these tyres fitted. I don't think anyone will say boo but probably best just to use them on the circuit and for popping to the petrol station. I wouldn't use them for sustained periods on the road or as you sole tyre choice.
My trackday car has passed it's MOT wearing Avon ZZR tyres, so DZ03G should be fine.Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
