P.S. The 'Ring doesn't open until 5.30pm this Saturday, but is open all day Sunday.

This is my 4th trip this year.

The Integra is a very good 'Ring machine. Nicely balanced, good brakes, difficult to get out-of-shape, and just enough power.

Take it easy to start with. You should start to get a feel for where the circuit goes after about 10 laps.

Beware, it's addictive.

Excellent, sounds great.

I had hoped the car would be good round there from its reputation. Have had it for 4 yrs now, so am well used to it.

Been practising on GT4 to learn the general direction etc of the track and so i can recognise corners etc when I'm there, so hopefully will have given me a bit of a headstart.
Though am NOT expecting it to be exactly like it or in any way the same experience as driving it for real, so will be taking it easy for sure!!

Am sure it will be addictive, just really looking fwd to the experience!!
cheers,
N

I'd suggest do a few sighting laps and only try and remember the 3 or 4 corners that 'surprised you' (at sighting lap pace obviously). The rest will naturally flow between your newly acquired 'reference points' (aka potential crash sites).

It depends upon how quickly you pick up circuits really.

See if you can follow someone round for a while, but try and look ahead of their car and don't drive off their brake lights

PS As a golden rule, if in doubt, turn in as late as you dare - you are almost guaranteed to get round the corner

PPS keep your foot in if it gets squirrely anywhere!

PPPS.....

Try and go on a weekend when
Fergus is there, as he sure knows the place, and gets you going where you want to be

Thanks for the comments Fergus and Glenn, much appreciated!

I will def. be taking it easy on first couple of laps, and will be going round with people who have been before to start with also..

Will be great, and a real experience!

can anyone tell me tho, on the start straight, how much of it is driveable before u pull into the pits/gate area again ?

If it is clear, you can drive flat-out to the circuit exit if you want. Personally, I back off after the "finishing" gantry to allow the engine and brakes to cool down a bit.

I would highly recommend backing off and coasting the length of the straight between the exit of Galgenkopf or the gantry and the exit to allow the brakes to cool. You will exercise them to the max, especially whilst learning the track.

Cheers Glenn. How's the GT3 going these days?

When are you next at the ring? It would be good to hook up again. My little pug is having 'some work' done on it over the winter, aiming for around 250-260hp, so with a 750kg weight (minus driver obviously!) my power/weight will be similar to your car!! I may lose out under braking though

So then...!
Am back from visit to the Nurburgring !

Basically it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

Had a brilliant time, the trip, the accomodation, the company, the driving, everything was just brilliant.
Driving the track was everything I had hoped it would be, and am happy to say my Integra was faultless all weekend.. It was superb to drive round track, handling was great, and in no way did I feel inferior to the other cars driving there..!! (something I was worried about a bit..!)
Learnt a lot about the car, found new enthusiasm for drving again, and will DEFINITELY be going back !!

Just brill!

Cheers all who contributed to my thread so far..
