CAT S Megane Trophy - Track Prep?
Discussion
Hi all
I've got a 265 Trophy declared CAT S (video of what happened, just rear quarter damage).
I've been on edge what to do with it, but it's probably going to be track. I'm not stripping it, as I think the only real weight is in the back seats.
What should I have to do to get it "ready"? It's passed an MOT, needs a balljoint (advisory), I have 6 Toyo R888R tyres. I was thinking braided hoses, some more track orientated pads.
Anything else?
Genuinely not going to be stupid with it, I haven't done track driving for 8 years but feel for the cost of a trackday and fuel, it's well worth the money.
I may sell it next year to fund house purchase, if anyone might be interested. It's Liquid Yellow, 1/50 in the UK.
Cheers

Don't need to do a lot, other than a service and check you have enough pads and tyres.
I've done plenty of trackdays, and personally never changed to braided lines. Always found decent pads and fresh fluid is perfectly fine.
Thankyou. I trust RS if it doesn't have braided lines already, they tend to know / knew what they were doingI've done plenty of trackdays, and personally never changed to braided lines. Always found decent pads and fresh fluid is perfectly fine.
Very interested in this thread
I'm currently stuck trying to work out what to do with my Megane.
It's an rs275 trophy in LY and i am really keen to use it on track.
I would likely just keep as is other than removing rear seats, pads, fluids etc and some new track wheels so I don't ruin the originals as they are too nice.
However I have a client 182 track car stripped with a cage etc and part of me feels the megane is too nice for track (silly I know and people have told me I'm being stupid on this point before).
I keep going around in circles
My head says:
just finish the clio, itjust needs a tidy up really that's it, and take it all over the country learning different tracks. Maybe treat it to some new seats or even itbs.
But my heart says
it would be amazing to take the megane on track and experience a step up in performance. Not to mention ive ruined the clio as a place to be its not nice whereas the megane is a way more comfortable prospect as a track car
