Track/ Drift experience gift for my Mrs
Discussion
I'm looking to get my Mrs a voucher for her birthday for a track/ drift experience. Ideally I'd like to get a combined day so she can have a drive in a Nissan GTR (her favourite car) and also do a bit of drifting which she's never done before. I have had a good look online and found that Drift Limits do offer exactly this, but the reviews are not great unfortunately.
Goodwood do a skid pan experience but with their track experience on top it would make it too expensive for what I want to pay.
We are based on the South coast and happy to travel a couple of hours either way.
Does anyone know of any good places/companies that would offer what I'm after?
Many thanks!

My wife got me an experience day at Drift Limits for my 40th, it ended up being delayed for a couple of years because of Covid, and then one of the 2 cars I'd been booked in for (Bullitt Mustang and GT500 Mustang) were off the road for a bit. They gave me the option for a substitute but I decided to wait until they were both available again. Glad I did as I had a blast there, was a really enjoyable couple of hours.
I've never done a track day or anything like this so wasn't sure what to expect, but everyone there was really friendly and made you feel welcome. You have the track safety briefing and then a few sighting laps as a passenger, the instructor starts off pretty tame and by the end you were thinking how the hell is he keeping the car on the track
The cars were a blast, my instructor got me settled into the car and guided me round well, at no point did it feel like he was trying to hold me back (egging me on to floor it to get the supercharger going on the back straight). I think it was supposed to be 8 laps in each, but pretty sure it was a few more, although it wasn't particularly busy and I suspect he took pity on me as it took me a few laps to start getting up to speed. By the end of each session I could feel I was making good progress and getting quicker (although I'm sure I was nowhere near the limit )
A few other observations:
- I did mine in September (last year) and it was good weather. But the site is very exposed with little shelter, so if the weather is crap then take a coat!
- They do like "upselling" - I did pay for the insurance excess waiver and also a set of photos. Credit to the photographer as they obviously know the best spots and got some really good shots, albeit not cheap.
- They have a great selection of cars, but they are... well... a bit tired looking But I guess not unusual for the sort of abuse they get.
Personally I'd go back, possibly for the Drift Experience as that seemed quite popular and don't hold back. My instructor did joke that they only consider it a successful experience if they manage to pop a tire
Obviously everyone's experiences differ, but don't rule it out completely.
Oh, and their GTR sounds an absolute beast!

Thanks for the response mate, really appreciate that. I might get her the GTR experience at Drift Limits although they have told me it is currently off the road. And then I was looking at the skid pan experience at Goodwood which is in BMWs. Thinking that would give best of both worlds and not cost the earth.
