Nurburgring 2024
Discussion
Plan is to do all the Destination Nürburgring track days next year, ideally in the new car but I'm not sure if May will be in the Golf.
Timing is a little tight, depending on when the event is and when I can pick up the new car.
If the Javelin Spa days at the start of April tie in the Circuit Days at the Ring I'll do that too, it doesn't always work out though and if it doesn't I'll just do Spa.
Going to be an interesting year for me, between each trip I hope to have made a significant step in the R8 build.

No mate, not in a position to buy until end of April 24, hence the short window before DN in May. It's no great hardship to take the Golf, but I'd prefer to take the Audi.
Will be V10 manual. By the end of the year, should be mostly complete, Clubsport spec so half cage, interior, coilovers, brakes, better cooling, aero BUT keeping it reasonable on the road.
Whilst the Golf is ace on circuit, I have more time now and want to drive it on the road as well as the track.
I'm hoping the R8 will tick those boxes

Thank you.
I'm pretty excited about it myself noise is going to be interesting, I really want to hear that v10 scream, but obviously need to stay within noise limits and there is simply no way on Earth I can bring myself to spend thousands on a titanium system.
Anyway, we're going off topic. Will you be on the DN events?

I'm hoping to do a track day next year. Does anyone have a rough idea of when they might be and cost?
Dates are usually released in December. There are 2 UK TDO who have run days at the Ring for over a decade. Destination Nürburgring and Circuit Days.
The DN days are higher priced but that means less cars are booked on the event and usually attract more experienced drivers.
Which you choose is down to what you want and your budget.
I'll be attending all the DN days next year (as I did this year) and hopefully April with CD as it often follows the Javelin 2 days at Spa.
Usually,
2 days in April (CD)
1 day in May (DN)
1 day in June (CD)
2 days July (DN)
2 days end Aug / early Sept (DN)
1 day Oct (CD)

Looking at booking the May date with DN (road cars only) just wondering about how much experience is required. I've done quite a lot of UK trackdays (probably 20+ over the years) and TF at the 'Ring 3-4 times (last time 10 years ago) - just planning on taking it steady and building up speed - thoughts?

You're approaching it with the right attitude of building up gradually. You'll be fine!Trackdays are much better as there's no TF heroes there to send it up the inside of you at the soonest possible point.
