Anyone booked to go to Bedford on 28 October? Thinking it might be a good first trackday back after a few years off!

I’m booked on and will be heading over with a few others. Hoping the rain will hold off but not looking likely!

I am also booked. Not bothered if it rains as I have a spare set of wheels with a set of Rainsports fitted.

Yeah, I'll be there in the Golf.

I don't mind if it rains either smile

Ah awesome! Will be great to see it in person - been keeping an eye on it since seeing the vids of you at the ring with Misha!

I will be in the mk5 edition 30

Oh thanks!

Don't look too close biggrin. It's in desperate need of a tidy up. I'm giving it a full respray this winter.

I however absolutely DO mind if it rains, first trackday for 10 years in a (new to me) Exige! I'll largely be trying to keep it on the island biggrin

Do come and say hi though (bright yellow Exige, alongside a red with white stripes Elise) if you get chance.

Weather update. It looks like it’s either going to be wet, showery or possibly dry.

It doesn’t seem to be able to make its mind up, but I think it’s going to be dry…

I wouldnt accurately want to predict the weather tomorrow, let alone in a weeks time!

Prepare for damp weather, but bring slicks if by some miracle the track is actually dry, you might get to bolt them on in the afternoon if youre lucky...

Rainsports already fitted and I will take R888’s just in case my reverse rain dance works.

Actually, the surface of Bedford isn’t too bad in the wet. A reasonably coarse tarmac. Compared to Brands which is like an ice rink when raining it is very doable.

I will be on PS4’s either way - would just prefer it dry!

I'll be on Yokohama AD08RS (driving there and back) so good to know it's grippier than Brands in the wet, albeit as you say that's a pretty low bar!

I'm going to this track day. It will be my first time on track.
If you see someone in an IOMG G82 M4 going far slower than the car is capable of it will probably be me.

If you fancy a chat or a ride to show you around the track, come and say hi.

Black Skoda.

Likewise from me adam.cantab (yellow Exige) - apart from the show you around the track part, it's been 10 years smile

Can I also cheekily ask if anyone on here has booked a garage and wouldn't mind if stuck a bag or two in it for the day? I missed out on reserving one, unfortunately.

Thanks phazed & _Neal_ I'll keep a try and say Hi during the day and am open to any pointers people can give.

I have an odd mix of excitement (to get to put myself and the car through its paces) and trepidation (fear of misjudging the limit, even though I'll be aiming for 7/10ths)

I know what you mean! I've not gone anywhere near the limit of my car yet and suspect it may be a bit "spiky" when I get there!

Just build up your pace gradually and you'll have a great time - Bedford is a really good choice for your first track day, lots of run off and a long track so easier to find a bit of space. Try and get some instruction as well, it makes a massive difference.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

If you don’t find a spot in a garage, you can always leave your tools with me. I will have my motorhome and trailer parked in the car park area just before the access road onto the track. White Mercedes with the black Skoda.
