I have a stripped 182, cage etc

Considering a change, ideally keeping it comfy

I have rs275 trophy which is awesome but I really think too nice to track so I'm considering selling both and buying

An R26
Or maybe
An Rs250, ideally with some mods already done

I want an upgrade in power but want to stay front wheel drive for now.

I'm not sure what I feel about cages etc. Felt like I needed a cage in the 182, wondering if it's less Important in an R26 or RS250.

I have never taken the rs275 on track but I can tell it will drive very well so in no doubt about that.

I guess the question really is what are peoples thoughts on the R26, especially experience of going from 182 to R26.

The r26 will feel like a 182 just with more grunt and less wheel spin, good jump in pace.
The trophy will be another step up, I came from a 197/200 (x3) via a DC5 to a 275 on track, the Megane was by far the most capable car I’ve driven on track and for an arrive and drive to me was perfect.

Thanks for this. I'm slowly convincing myself to just track the 275

We used to track a well set up R26 which was very quick but did eat its front tyres. We have now gone rear wheel drive for a change.

Go for a rs250 cup, r26 engines are very weak

R26. The engines are fine so long as you keep below 300bhp and don’t use a generic emailed map.

But be quick as the prices are already on an upward slant.

Be a shame to downgrade to a 250 when you already have a more than capable car there, ready to go. I do kinda get it but these cars are meant to be driven.
