Fuel tank breather, stopping fuel coming out on corners?
Discussion
The fuel tank breather pipe on my car is dumping fuel on roundabouts at the moment and i am taking part in a track day next week so need to cure this issue. The breather pipe goes vertically for about a foot and i have looped it over and crimped with a cable tie but it has not helped, the tank is baffled but the breather is at the left hand end which means when the tank is fairly full it is a problem. I have looked at various valves but can`t get a definitive answer from any of the suppliers that they will work in the way needed to stop the fuel coming up the pipe and let the air in. The roll over valve looks the best bet as i assume that fuel trying to exit up the pipe will push the ball up and momentarily shut the valve, the issue seems to be if fuel gets the wrong side of the ball as it surges then air cannot get in? Any one on here got round a similar issue, suggestions from those that have solved a similar problem appreciated. Here is one i am looking at:-

I've used one very much like that, albeit more to prevent fuel pouring out the tank in the event of a rollover. Had no issues with it (they are pretty simple float valves after all) but I can't comment on whether or not it will help you out - I do know I dump any fuel from it though!
