Who's going? I'll be there in my 986 boxster S, hoping for a dry day as i'll need to put the roof down. Meeting a mate there in his supercharged VX220 also.

I saw your Boxter a few times but never came across it on track, did you have a good day?

yeah was alright! early lunch was a bit weird, but it dried up quite nicely in the afternoon so got some good laps in. despite being a busy day the standard of driving was pretty good - apart from the couple of times people tried to overtake round the outside between oggies and williams, and got surprised when i was moving over to the far left to take my line through williams.

yeah my mates vx220 is pretty fun - 250bhp in a car that weighs 900kgs is a good recipe.

How did you find Snetterton in your Boxster? I did it last year in my S and didn’t feel it was very exciting.

I’ve done Snetterton many, many times before mainly in TVR’s which suited them, but the Boxster felt a little lost on the big open circuit. Not sure why as I actually quite enjoyed it in my track day 1.8T Skoda.

If you haven’t already, do Cadwell Park, which suits the Boxster well. A tighter flowing circuit with lots of elevation and corners, it feels right at home there. I have done Castle Combe with the Boxster as well, and that even though being an open circuit felt more enjoyable.

yeah i liked it... didnt feel too outgunned on the straights, and its pretty good through the infield. im not a fan of the 2nd gear hairpins particularly, but most the other corners are good. it is a bit flat, but thats fine, its in norfolk after all.

i'll admit, i havent done cadwell in the boxster... last time i was there i was in a z4, but still didn't like it... too nadgery for me!

my suggestions to modify Cadwell to my liking are pretty simple... modify Mansfield into a larger radius, faster turn, then a straight line between Mansfield and the hairpin (bin off the mountain, and the hall bends entirely - or make them just for bikes or something) then make the hairpin and barn curve a faster, double apex corner like sunny in and sunny out at croft beer

What! That's sacrilege...

I love it as it is, try it in your Boxster.

Me last September following my good friend Qbee in his TVR... a great day.
